These swans were a Christmas present for my sister's kids. She wanted some contrast to the colors, but still so they fit together so that was what I was aiming for. Plus the actual colors she wanted them to be, which was black and violet... I think they turned out pretty nice.

I did not design this origami, nor can I take all the credit for it. I thank jewellia7777 for the great instruction video this was made with! You can find a lot of great tutorial videos from jewellia777 on Youtube so I encourage everyone with interest to find your way there. :)

3D origami is basically folding small pieces of paper into triangles that fit together to form this rather strong structure. If you're interested, I suggest you find some beginners tutorials on Youtube. Trust me, there's a lot of them!

These are so stunning! I really love the colours - particually the purple + white. They must take ages to make!
After having seen earlier in your gallery though - I really wish they were photographed on a plain background as your first few have been - to really do them justice!!

Thank you for your kind comment. These particular swans take about 5-6 hours each to make, maybe a little longer, from start to the end. That's actually quite fast compared to the bigger ones I've made, but time's always relative I think. :D

And I know what you mean by the background. I was lucky to get the first pictures against a black background, but am unable to take them like that at this point of time. Plus half the works I've posted were given as a Christmas present (which I managed to finish on the very last night possible...) so I didn't really have time to do anything fancy with the shots; I just took them. But I am actually planning on re-photographing the origami I still kept to myself, making sure to have a plain background. So thanks for that hint; I'll definitely keep that in mind and work my hardest to get the new shots here as soon as possible. :)
