Circle Tailed Peacock (3D Origami) by Denierim Circle Tailed Peacock (3D Origami) by Denierim
This was a Christmas present for my grandparents. They both fell in love with this beautiful creature and it's now my grandmother's pride and joy each time the cleaning lady comes to clean the house. I was pretty glad and kind of flattered to hear that, even though I just followed instructions making this. :)

The terrible lighting is due to not having any nature light while taking this picture and being in a hurry to actually take it...

I did not design this origami, nor can I take all the credit for it. I got the instructions from a Japanese 3D origami book. You can find more information about the said book from my journal entry here: [link]

3D origami is basically folding small pieces of paper into triangles that fit together to form this rather strong structure. If you're interested, I suggest you find some beginners tutorials on Youtube. Trust me, there's a lot of them!

I just stuck them together; no glue was used on this model at all. The tail actually becomes really sturdy when the pieces are put together and there's really no need for glue. It holds up pretty nicely without. :)
